for Black Women

For those seeking deeper connection, healing, and community.

Are you ready to find clarity and
community in these challenging times?

This moment calls for healing, for connection, and for discovering the strength to carry your burdens together, making them lighter as we move forward.

Kumwe (pronounced koom-weh) means “together” in the Rwandan language, and in our space, Turi Kumwe—we are together. We hear you, we see you, and we walk with you.

At Kumwe, we believe that healing happens when we are together. Kumwe is a continuous space for growth and support, all year round. We understand that transformation takes time, and Kumwe is designed to respond to the ongoing need for community support. Every quarter is a season, and every month we explore a new theme.

How Kumwe Works

A New Theme Every Month

Every month, Kumwe Circle introduces a new theme aligned with personal growth and communal support. Themes like “Laying the Foundations,” “Rediscovering Joy,” and “Honoring Boundaries” explore the intersections of family, relationships, silences, trauma, and body awareness. Through these themes, you’ll access practical exercises and reflections that gently encourage healing, understanding, and self-discovery.

Weekly Circle Sessions

Join us every week for our 90-minute Zoom gatherings, where we explore each month’s theme in the community. On the first and third Mondays, we hold Circle Sessions with grounding exercises, group discussions, and interactive activities to explore themes like courage in setting boundaries and resilience within family connections. On the second and fourth Mondays, we gather for Listening Circles—a dedicated time to check in, take questions, and integrate learnings together. Can’t make it live? Replays are available so you can engage with the insights whenever it suits you. (EST: Eastern Standard Time, North America; CAT: Central Africa Time).

Anonymous Support Anytime

We know that some topics can be difficult to share openly. With anonymous support, you can submit questions anytime on any topic, knowing you’ll receive a thoughtful response within 48 hours. This option ensures that every member feels seen and supported, whatever they’re going through.

Exclusive Event Opportunities

Kumwe members receive first invitations to retreats, live events, and special gatherings. These experiences offer face-to-face connection with other members, helping you deepen relationships in a safe, empowering environment.

Growing Resource Library

On the 1st of each month, our library expands with new tools, guided reflections, and resources related to the monthly theme. This curated collection offers support for your journey whenever you need it, providing material to revisit and apply as you grow.

How We Show Up

Showing Up & Taking Ownership

Your presence and participation are vital. Show up as you are, engage fully with others, and take ownership of your experience and growth.

How Can I Improve myself?

How Can I Improve the World?

A Relational Learning Space

Kumwe is a space where your voice and journey are at the center. This relational approach to learning prioritizes your desires, questions, and challenges, helping you grow in a way that resonates with who you are.

I Work to Hold Kumwe as a Liberatory Space

I welcome the diverse experiences of marginalization (colorism, trans/gnc/nb folks, disabled folks, those navigating challenging ethnic or group identities), creating a safe space for us to learn, grow, and practice relational accountability. Liberation is messy—there’s no room for perfectionism or punishment here.

Testimonials

Omora Healing

" The biggest change I can identify is trusting my emotions. It’s fascinating how having your feelings validated by other black women can be such a simple driver of internal change. Seeing my feelings being understood was such a flip from the way society usually gaslights us regarding our personal struggles "

Omora Healing

"I was living in a very conflictual home situation on top of working a job where I dealt with lots of heavy subjects (crisis all the time), the healing circle was my safe haven for 2 hours, I was able to be heard and held and supported"

Participant in BCC.

Omora Healing

"It was what held me through the week. It helped me to still be able to have hope and faith to experience better days ahead and was most likely what enabled me to dream big and connect back with my intuition. It also helped me create great friendship"
